What buyers say
+What people like
- Owners describe the Nitro frame as sturdy and solidly built, with a steady feel while walking.
- The large front wheels roll smoothly outdoors and handle door thresholds and rough pavement well.
- Folding is quick and simple, and the folded frame is slim enough for most car trunks or a corner at home.
- The padded seat and backrest are comfortable for rest breaks, and the handles adjust easily.
- Many owners like the modern look, and the brake cables run inside the frame so they do not catch on furniture.
−Common complaints
- Lifting it into a vehicle can be hard work for frail or older caregivers, as it weighs more than basic walkers.
- Some owners find the brake levers stiff to squeeze, and others report cables loosening or brakes wearing out within the first year or two.
- A number of buyers report front wheels that wobble, pull to one side, or loosen over time.
- It is wide for small bathrooms and tight hallways, and Duet owners often find its hard plastic seat uncomfortable for long sits.
!Buying tips
- Match the frame to the user's height: the store carries Hemi (lower), standard and Tall Nitro frames, plus heavy-duty and bariatric options.
- If it will be lifted into a car often, compare weights first and consider the carbon-fibre Nitro Elite CF.
- Measure doorways and bathroom space before buying, and choose the Duet only if you need occasional transport-chair use.
